Pakistan’s New Crop Varieties Approved

The Pakistan Government has approved 12 innovative crop varieties, including cotton, wheat, mustard, and ber, developed by leading agricultural scientists in Sindh. The decision, made by the Pakistan Government’s agricultural council, aims to enhance crop productivity and address challenges posed by climate change. Key varieties include new cotton and wheat strains, which will help boost agricultural output and improve self-sufficiency.

The Pakistan Government emphasized the importance of consultations with farmers, ensuring crop varieties meet their needs. The government also announced the introduction of a Seed Act to prevent counterfeit agricultural products and ensure the use of high-quality seeds.
