US – Philippines Cyber Security Partnership

The US government, through USAid, and The Asia Foundation have launched a P16.8-million ($300,000) initiative to strengthen the capacity of human rights organizations in the Philippines. This initiative, “Cybersecurity for Human Rights in the Philippines” (C4HR-PH), aims to provide tools and training to over 150 local organizations across the country.

The program will focus on risk management, digital security assessments, phishing awareness, and cybersecurity protocols. The C4HR-PH initiative is crucial in protecting human rights organizations from cyber threats, including doxing, phishing, and organized digital attacks. Civil society organizations are considered high-risk communities for cyberattacks due to their limited defense capabilities.
