Why Do We Need Smart Cities?

Cities everywhere are growing  and feeling the strain. Some 55% of the world’s population lives in urban areas, and that number is expected to reach 68% by 2050 which means 2.5 billion more people living in cities, Which can cause  many cities across the developing world to suffer energy shortages.

In response, municipalities worldwide are embracing “smart city” concepts and tools. AI and IoT can act as a Smart City operating system to effectively interconnect and coordinate city systems.
