Quantum Engine for Energy Conversion

Physicists in Germany have made a significant breakthrough in the field of quantum thermodynamics by developing a quantum engine that can convert the energy difference between two quantum states of a group of atoms into work.

The efficiency of the quantum engine is based on the amount of energy released during this process in relation to the energy added to the system. Currently, the quantum engine is 25% efficient, but the researchers believe they can improve this to 50% or more in the future.
