Smart Cities & Vulnerable Citizens

Smart sustainable cities are “beacons of hope” but must deploy technology to help the vulnerable. International Child Protection and Sustainable Development Expert Joanna Rubinstein said that smart sustainable cities need to ensure that vulnerable populations are not left behind in the drive for technological progress.

Addressing a gathering of international mayors of the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO), Rubinstein said that the world had been pushed off track by COVID-19, the war in Ukraine and extreme weather events.
