Suriname’s Strategic Energy Partnership

The government of Suriname has facilitated a key partnership between QatarEnergy and Chevron, with QatarEnergy acquiring a 20 percent stake in Block 5 offshore Suriname. This deal showcases the government’s role in leveraging digital tools and fostering international energy collaborations. 

Additionally, Suriname’s proactive approach in awarding production-sharing contracts for Blocks 64 and 65 to QatarEnergy, TotalEnergies, and Petronas highlights its commitment to advancing digital oil and gas exploration practices. These agreements expand the nation’s resource base and demonstrate the government’s focus on digital innovation in energy management.
