Thailand’s New Digital Nomad Visa

The Thai government has introduced the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) to attract digital nomads, freelancers, and remote workers. This five-year, multiple-entry visa allows stays of 180 days per visit, with an extension option, and costs approximately US$280. Applicants must be at least 20 years old, demonstrate financial stability, and provide proof of employment or a professional portfolio. However, they can only work for Thai companies with a work permit.

The DTV initiative aims to boost Thailand’s tourism sector by drawing more international visitors, complementing efforts to extend visa options for various categories. This strategy aligns with the government’s goal of enhancing tourism through digital innovation and flexible visa policies.
