The Syrian government, with support from WHO, UNICEF, and Gavi, has launched the second round of the Big Catch-Up vaccination initiative to address declines in childhood immunization due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative targets around 2 million children under five, with over 300,000 expected to receive vaccines, including a measles campaign in priority districts.
The government’s proactive community engagement, leveraging digital tools and media, aims to boost vaccination rates and strengthen the national immunization program. The effort underscores the role of digital strategies in enhancing public health responses and building resilient healthcare systems.
